Elemental is only one demarcation for the Quaternity. They also manifest as the four directions, (East, West, North and South) the four aspects of our beings (Spirit, Mind, Emotions and Body) the four seasons, times of the day (morning, noon, evening and night), etc. They are often assigned colors, usually black, white, red and yellow. (For logistical reasons, I use brown instead of black for the earth)
There’s a great deal of discrepancy how these different demarcations line up in different systems and cultures.
