THE SECOND INTEGRATION
THE QUATERNITY COMES INTO BEING
As I said, the development of the neural cortex in mammals was the return of Father Sky. Tetl, the seed of the mind, the seat of awareness, finally had reached the surface of Mother Earth’s beingness. He could finally leave His physical functioning behind and enter the thought realm. Well, that might have been Tetl’s plan if He could have planned. But Atl was way ahead of him there and, instead of heading off into the stream of conscious, She swept Him, along with a piece of Father Sky’s consciousness, dragging them both back to Earth. What She had captured in Her net was small portions of each of them; Tonanzin, Tonal, Tetl and Herself. Whereas the reptiles were a compilation of Mother Earth and Tetl, each mammal was a microcosm of the four energy forms. Heading up the feminine half of the Universe meant the individual beings would be governed by knowing or instinct. The individual mind would take time to develop, but the system was in place, and the world began to spin.
Atl began taking Tetl though a cycle of waking, dreaming, sleeping to waking again. Each day Tetl entered the consciousness. It was fortunate that He instinctually knew what to do to survive because, to early awareness, Father Sky’s stream of consciousness would have been overwhelming. No doubt even a small piece of it was heady enough.
But Atl would take over as Tetl slept, weaving dreams of all He had seen, felt, heard, touched, smelled and tasted and bound the experience together. Then She would take Him along with all the discarded conscious material, down to Tonanzin to reconnecting Him to all He ever was, where the continuity that underlies knowing obliterates the illusion of separateness. The next day He would rise into consciousness and do it all over again.
Her weaving became the basis for awareness to learn how to function free from the compelling force of instinct. Gradually Atl and Her brother grew stronger and more and more independent. As they did the energy between the four became balanced and harmonious, for that is Atl’s way.
It’s a big Universe, and She’s not in any hurry. By the time inner balance was established, 60 million years or so had evolved mammals into humans. The points of perfect balance in different branches of our species can be clearly seen in all the amazing ancient civilizations that rose to power between 4000 BC and the time of Christ.
Mesopotamia, Egypt, India, China and notably the Inca and Maya all inexplicably displayed skills and knowledge that we can only marvel at. Knowledge we are still trying to understand, and well we should. The internal dynamic that was in operation before the birth of Christ was very different from the one that has influenced western culture for the past 2000 years. It wasn’t the balance alone that created such incredible insights and works of engineering. These civilizations were still connected to the feminine knowing. They had access to the kind of knowledge that is far beyond our current capacity to understand. Though that’s not to say they understood it. Mankind had not yet developed a separate awareness. The third return of Father Sky would bring big changes.
